David Gardner said I was one of the first young entrepreneurs he came across who didn't need help recruiting. I worked as a recruiter before founding EmployUs, a startup called the "Uber of Recruiting." This gave me an edge in finding and recruiting our team. David and I wanted to expand on his initial writings on"The Recruiter's Hat," to provide a guide for other entrepreneurs and early-stage talent acquisition leaders.
In this series, you will learn the good, the bad and the ugly from being a founder, employee, or investor in six different early-stage companies. I will illustrate what I observed from more experienced entrepreneurs scaling companies from a small founding team to over 100 employees. Lastly, I will include some best practices shared with me as a recruiter who learned from the best recruiters in the country hailing from Nest, RedHat, Citrix, and Manpower.
In this guide, you'll learn about how you build your founding team to set yourself up for success then create a recruiting machine to help your company win the war for talent, without investing in low-performing job boards and expensive recruiting agencies.
Follow me to get each part of the guide and get ready to put on "The Recruiter's Hat."
Up Next in November: "Building Your Team"
PS--Want to help contribute to this guide? I would welcome the feedback and contributions of other recruiters and entrepreneurs who want to share their knowledge to help entrepreneurs and executives build their teams.
